Living Lexicon
I felt inspired to create a collective space for my peers in the International Artist Educator program at ArtEZ; a hive mind of sorts. I was envisioning a more rhizomatic place, a creative approach to document the connections between our individual research in a visual manner. This project allowed me to experiment with how knowledge can be archived, but also shared.
I developed a miro board named Living Lexicon, which included three tools:
i: “web of terminology” where students can add terms that are collected as they read/consume other media that is either new or feels useful for their research.
ii: a “communal library” for people to share reading material they’re currently reading or hoping to read in the future.
iii: a “tool kit” space to add methods or other resources we gather through our research journeys.
For example, below is a positionality map—a method used to document the sources I collected for my research.
